What is Pregnancy Reflexology?
Pregnancy Reflexology is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy feeling pampered and relaxed. Treatments are gentle and they are an ideal way of supporting the body through the different stages of pregnancy and beyond. Treatments may help to balance hormones, boost energy levels and help to keep the body healthy and relaxed. Reflexology can also be used to encourage labour if you are overdue. Midwives often now recommend Reflexology as part of a maternity programme.
Reflexology may help with a number of common symptoms including:
- Back pain
- Digestive disorders
- Anxiety and stress
- Oedema (fluid retention)
Not only does Reflexology help with the symptoms of pregnancy it can also help with a smoother labour by allowing you to be relaxed and calm and ready for the big day.
Inducing and Encouraging Labour
Near to the end of your third trimester reflexology techniques can be incorporated to try to encourage your body to go into labour. A reflexology treatment just prior to your due date or post your due date often brings about a wonderful feeling of relaxation and may help to reduce any physical discomfort.

The first treatment will start with an initial consultation where I will take a detailed medical history including diet, lifestyle. From this assessment I will be able to devise an effective treatment plan.
