I am a clinical Aromatherapist trained at the renowned school of natural medicine at Neal’s Yard in Covent garden and I am a full member of the IFPA (International Association Of Professional Aromatherapists). I offer therapies which nourish and support the emotional and physical well being of the body to achieve balance and harmony.
Aromatherapy massage is a treatment which uses essential oils for physical and emotional well being. Essential oils are powerful extracts from flowers, herbs, spices, grasses, resins or bark and are used for their medicinal properties. Aromatherapy massage aims to boost emotional and physical well being by facilitating the body’s natural ability to balance and heal it self. Aromatherapy massage is generally a gentle, intuitive, rhythmic massage treatment that encourages the muscles to relax and the mind to unwind. I am also happy to work deeply into tissues, although I tend to work slowly and intuitively in order to not cause muscular pain. This approach works well where by muscular tension has been caused by the build up of day to day stress whether that be physical or emotional pain.
The initial Aromatherapy treatment will include a detailed health and well being consultation which is used to assess your medical history, general health and lifestyle. The health assessment will enable me to choose a bespoke blend of essential oils that is most suitable for you. The approach which I use is both professional, empathic, nurturing and focused on your individual needs whether that be physical, psychological or emotional. I work with over 70 different essential oils which all have their own unique properties and will be chosen very carefully with you and diluted into a carrier oil such as almond oil or grapeseed oil, whilst taking into account any contraindications .
A range of issues may lead you to try an Aromatherapy massage including:
- Muscular tension and pain
- Joint pain
- Anxiety and depression
- Digestive issues
- Self care
Deep Tissue Aromatherapy Massage:
Targets specific areas of deep seated tension with a detoxifying blend of essential oils to promote recovery.
It is advisable to consult a clinical Aromatherapist before using essential oils to be assured that you are using appropriate dilutions and carrier oils suitable to your needs. Also some essential oils are not safe to use during pregnancy.
All massage treatments are carried out at The Naturality Wellness Centre in Berkhamsted. Please feel free to contact me for a mini telephone consultation if you would like more information and guidance.
