Aromatherapy is the use of plant essential oils to help with physical and emotional well being. Each oil contains different plant chemicals that are absorbed through massage and inhalation. These essential oils are powerful extracts from flowers, herbs, spices, grasses, resins or bark and are used for their medicinal properties. Selected essential oils may be supplied for use at home as inhalations, blends or a hot or cold compresses to help ease symptoms.
I specialise in supporting clients struggling with:
- Anxiety related disorders
- Hormonal imbalances
- Chronic health conditions
The initial Aromatherapy treatment will include a detailed health and well being consultation which is used to assess your medical history, general health and lifestyle. The health assessment will enable me to choose a bespoke blend of essential oils that is most suitable for you. Gentle light massage is used to help relax and relieve muscle tension. Manual lymphatic drainage massage techniques can be incorporated into the treatment dependent upon individual needs. The approach which I use is both professional, empathic, nurturing and focused on your individual needs whether that be physical, psychological or emotional.
Aromatherapy treatments may be continued at home to further support your health & well-being. There are many ways you can use this effective form of therapy at home – creams, oils, roll-ons, sprays, compresses, baths, inhalations & vaporisation are just a few of the ways. I am happy to offer advice & guidance for free.
It is advisable to consult a clinical Aromatherapist before using essential oils to be assured that you are using appropriate dilutions and carrier oils suitable to your needs. Also some essential oils are not safe to use during pregnancy.
I am a clinical Aromatherapist trained at the renowned school of natural medicine at Neal’s Yard in Covent garden and I am a full member of the IFPA (International Association Of Professional Aromatherapists).
All massage treatments are carried out at The Naturality Wellness Centre in Berkhamsted. Please feel free to contact me for a mini telephone consultation if you would like more information and guidance.
