Reflexology For Health And Well Being

Reflexology works with the principle that there is a “reflex” points on the feet which corresponds to different parts of the body. By stimulating these points we can help to bring the body back to a state of balance and health.Reflexology is a way of relaxing your body and mind and it may help to reduce stress and anxiety. It can help to unwind the mind and it has a “grounding effect” on all the systems of the body. It can be incorporated into a busy lifestyle as part of a coping strategy with the effect of a calmer mind and a less achy body.

How I Work

I will go through a full health and well being consultation and create a bespoke treatment plan to suit your needs using a combination of releasing techniques for congestion and tension and tonifying techniques to support underlying depletion or tiredness.

I work incorporating the Five Element traditional Chinese medical system, which brings in new emotional, mental and physiological associations to the organ systems of the body which allows us to see your life as a whole and offer supportive after care and treatment plans. I am also trained in Lymph Drainage Reflexology RLD and can incorporate this into treatments, which has been shown to reduce oedema and is used safely with secondary lymph oedema which can occur from issues such as post cancer treatments.

What happens during a treatment?

A Reflexology treatment works purely with the feet (or occasionally the hands). You remain fully clothed removing just your shoes and socks. Lying in a comfortable position, I will work over the soles of your feet applying pressure to the individual reflex points. Reflexology should not be painful although at times you may feel some discomfort in particular areas highlighting possible emotional or physical imbalances.
