Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which is commonly known as (CBT) is a talking therapy which helps you to identify negative ways of thinking, behaving and feeling whilst at the same time replacing those negative patterns with more positive ones.
The focus is very much upon dealing with any problems in the present rather than spending a huge amount of time looking at the past. The National Institute for health and Care Excellence (NICE) and the NHS recommend CBT in the treatment of anxiety and depression.
Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy draws on the way we can use our imagination to fully challenge feelings and thoughts replacing them with more positive suggestions. Within a treatment session you may experience a deep sense of relaxation. within hypnosis you will be able to use your imagination to visualise your goals whilst changing the way you think, feel and behave in order to achieve them.
I combine hypnotherapy, mindfulness and CBT techniques to help you to explore and become aware of what is going on in your life. I work towards enabling you to then develop more positive ways of thinking, behaving and feeling. There is strong evidence to suggest that the combination of hypnotherapy with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is more effective than using CBT alone.
